Last Day!

The last day before the Big 30! I had a wonderful weekend celebrating at a joint party with a friend of mine, where we all wore old bridesmaids dresses that you wear once and never again. Except when you create a party to wear them to!

(Hint: Molly and I are the ones with the hats)

Always a good idea to play croquet after dark...

Sunday morning I found two baby deer in my front yard, which was beautiful. Until....

They started eating my snapdragons -right outside my kitchen window! What is that??!?

Summer Activities

Lest anyone think that I have completely frittered away my time this summer...I am here to tell you I have been quite busy! Probably another few weeks until I start work and I plan on keeping busy...as well as celebrating the Big 30. Eek.
These have been my main summer activities:
Garden: Because of our trip out west in May, the garden was late going in. So, we are still waiting on the fruits of our labor to ripen.

Squash plants....waiting on the squash.

Lots o' maters

Mark's peppers!

Crocheting: I have also started two more baby blankets for friends having babies this fall. Just found out this weekend that a third friend is due around Christmas...so many babies!

This is for whomever has a girl...there better be at least one out of three!

The best part of the summer has been the group of Scottish students who have come over through the same exchange program that took me over there last summer. I got to know two of them last summer and have had a great time getting to know the rest of them this month. Mark and I have tried to show them a good time and this past weekend I took them to Washington D.C.

Good Southern tradition of learnin' to shoot.

My father-in-law helping Lisa with her fish.

Part of the group with my in-laws. These four spent the weekend with Mark and I two weeks ago - there are 10 total who came over from Scotland.
