Scenes of Africa

Home again, home again! Our group finally landed in Charlotte at around 11:15 last night...we were supposed to be there at 7:00. So, I was welcomed home by the puppies a few minutes after 1:30 this morning. I cat-napped on the planes for maybe 5-6 hours total in the 50 hours I was awake in the past few days, and so was more than happy to see my bed this morning! Before another nap...here are a few pictures from the trip:

Landing strip in Tabora...
Tabora airport

Inside of Moravian church in Tabora, where the women's conference was held

Batikis made by the women of Tabora, for sale.

Wearing our new batikis...

Children in Tabora - they loved to have their picture taken!

Moravian campus where we stayed.

Molly and I at closing banquet of the women's conference.

Hospital in Sikonge. The open area in the middle is to provide room for families to come and stay and help care for their loved ones in the hospital. They cook food for the patient and help them with any personal care while they are patients. Nurses do not provide those services as they do here.

My birthday cake in Dar es Salaam!

The Indian Ocean!

And finally, a few scenes from when we were travelling:
